Site Name: John's Landing
Address: Lake Cooroibah Road, Tewantin.
Directions: From Tewantin turn right into Werin Street passing Tewantin State School, then left into Cullinane Street which becomes McKinnin Drive( Tewantin Boreen Point Road). Turn right into Lake Cooroibah Drive. Travel 5 km, passing a section of Great Sandy National Park on the left, (no turns), to end of bitumen road. Travel along John's Road, a further 2 km on dirt road, to John's Landing.
Description: This site is privately owned. There is a small charge, payable at the end of the dirt road, to enter the camp grounds. The track which follows Noosa River east can be very muddy in wet weather. The owner has constructed a track around a dam/swamp on the western side of the camping area.
Birds: Look for Glossy Black-Cockatoo along Lake Cooroibah Drive, John's Road is also worth checking for birds. A full list of the birds recorded from this site is available within the Noosa Bird Trail bird species checklist here.
Signage: Look for Queensland Bird Trails logo sign. Follow the owners directions.
Parking: Park at the camp grounds.
Condition: Suitable for most levels of fitness.
