Description: The 1.7 km walk is mostly uphill - a moderate climb - to Cootharaba Views Lookout. Walkers could be sharing the walk with horses - wear good boots. Box trees and lantana grow along one side of the track, open countryside the other, with some interesting vegetation near creek which is crossed via a neat little bridge. The track passes a pond with frogs calling. Grasses are home for finches. The top of the ridge is wonderful for raptors and the view is spectacular. Signs give a little history of the area. Lake Cootharaba, Noosa and the ocean can be seen to the east and the ranges to the west. Fit people may like to carry a telescope to appreciate the view. There is a water tank, picnic table and shelter at the lookout. Composting toilets may be installed at the start of the walk, where there is also a shelter and picnic table near the carpark. Return the same way. A day outing could include a walk along Bunneys Lane. Respect adjoining private property.
