Site Name: Harry Springs Conservation Park
Address: McKinnon Drive, Tewantin (Tewantin to Boreen Point Road). Access is via Golf Course Drive, Tewantin.
Directions: From Tewantin, take Cooroy Noosa Road toward Cooroy. Pass the Tewantin Golf Course and take the next turn right, Golf Course Drive to the end.
Description: Once past the fence at parking area, take the track off to the right to access the Conservation Park. The land belonged to well known Cooroy chemist, Harry Springs and his wife Gladys. They realized and appreciated the vegetation value of the property so generously donated the area to the Noosa Shire Council so it could be preserved for posterity. Where Wooroi Creek runs through the park there is a profusion of Cabbage Tree palms. Tracks off the main track tend to be lost under fallen palm leaves. Casuarina and melaleuca trees attract birds along the main track.
Birds: Shining Bronze-Cuckoo, Little Shrike-thrush, Scarlet Honeyeater in winter, Mistletoebird, Eastern Yellow Robin, Rufous Whistler. A full list of the birds recorded from this site is available within the Noosa Bird Trail bird species checklist here.
Signage: There will be no Noosa Bird Trail signs to this forest reserve.
Parking: Park at the end of Golf Course Drive/ corner Homestead Drive.
Condition: The track is suitable for all levels of fitness.
Facilities: None on site.
