Noosa Bird Trail

What is the Trail?

The Noosa Bird Trail is a route throughout the Noosa region to sites which have been selected for their importance to wildlife and suitability for birdwatching.

Our hope is that the Noosa Bird Trail will assist the conservation of these and other important areas, thereby enhancing Noosa's environmental reputation by promoting birdwatching activities, environmental education and economic opportunity.

If you don't identify yourself as a birder, businesses will assume that you are a conventional tourist, and Noosa will continue to find its wild areas under threat of conventional development.

So flex your economic muscle as a birder by printing the Birders Calling Cards from this site and leaving them with the proprietor whenever you spend any money in this area, whether it be hire cars, accommodation or just buying burgers! Leave them whenever you buy petrol, stay overnight in a motel or take a meal in a nice restaurant while you are undertaking a birding trip in the Noosa area. Let them know that birders are good for the local economy. Birders spend money!
